Ms. Methlie

Hello!  I am new to Lemon Bay High School this year, and excited to be your child's teacher.  I'm originally from Iowa, but spent the last thirty years in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C., save for the four years when I returned to my hometown of Indianola to attend Simpson College, where I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a semester at The Sorbonne University in Paris, France.  After graduating with a degree in French, I returned to Virginia to teach.

For three years, I taught French to K-8th grade at a private school, but the bulk of my career was with Fairfax County Public Schools, working in special education.  As a life-long learner, I was excited to be able to continue taking classes at the Falls Church Campus of the University of Virginia, as well as George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

I will always have a love of the French language and culture, but my passion is teaching students with special needs so they can find success in the classroom.   It is a privilege to be your child's teacher.  Each day they are in my class, they will be actively engaged and appropriately supported.
