Announcement from administration:

Good morning!

Next Thursday, 4/18, we will celebrate the Qtr. 3 Honor Roll students in the cafeteria. This time we are changing it up a little with Principal Bingo instead of a morning certificate recognition.

Students will receive an invitation on Wednesday. A list will also be sent to staff with all students who are eligible to attend. If you have a student believes they should have been invited but was not, they can check their grades in Focus. If they should have received an invitation, please notify me or a school counselor. Those students who have all As and Bs are invited to attend.

Teachers are identified as out-of-field based upon their teaching assignment and student enrollment, as identified in the Florida Department of Education Course Code Directory. Teachers who teach one or more classes of a subject that is not a subject area listed on their Florida Educator’s Certificate are considered out-of-field.

The following teachers at Punta Gorda Middle School are certified, but are assigned one or more classes outside their areas of certification and are required to take appropriate steps to comply with the statutory regulation:

In addition, the following teachers are engaged in training to add English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) to their certificates:
