Mrs. Summer Nicklas

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

I grew up in Charlotte County and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1995. This is my first year as a teacher at CHS, and I am excited to meet the incoming freshman class this year, however, I may know some of you already from our time spent together at PGMS (where I was a teacher for 13 years and Teacher of the Year in 2020). I am married to Dr. Scott Nicklas, who is an Assistant Principal in Lee County, and together we have 6 children. Kendall-25, Kaylie-24, Kait-22, Brendan-18, Luke-11 (who is my stepson), and Easton-10. My four older children are proud CHS graduates and my two youngest sons are in 5th grade this year. Two of my daughters are also teachers at CHS. My oldest son is currently serving in the U.S. Army.

I attended The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and Hodges University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree. My hobbies include, watching Ole Miss football, playing golf, fishing, staying active in my sorority and alumni chapters, shopping locally, and anything that involves my children. I also write for a local magazine every month called Isles Life.

Parents, I look forward to working with both you and your child during this upcoming year. You can expect me to be fair, consistent, open-minded, and willing to assist your child in any way to help him/her succeed. Being a mom helps me better understand a parents’ perspective on education and want only the best for your child.  I treat your child the way I would want someone to treat mine. I have taught in our county for thirteen years and could not imagine a better profession.  I love teaching and hope that your child will be able to recognize the dedication I have to his/her education.

Please be sure to check my website and Canvas each week for important lesson plans and other information.

Please be sure to use the REMIND app this year! It is a great way to get reminders from me.

Let's get started! Go Tarpons!
